Attraction Spotlight: Fox River Trolley Museum
Are you wanting to experience a refreshing bike ride while having the option to stop and visit an attraction? We have just the trip for you when you visit our local attraction right on the Fox River Bike Trail.
The Fox River Trolley Museum offers a great educational experience for visitors to learn about the old-time trolley car and also experience it. They also have special events throughout the summer and fall season to create great, fun atmospheres for the whole family to enjoy.
For instance, on Mother’s and Father’s Day you can ride in the antique trolleys on the beautiful fox river. Mothers and grandmothers ride free on Mother’s Day and fathers and grandfathers right free on Father’s Day.
Rails to Victory is a unique experience where visitors are submersed in life during WWII. You take a front row seat to the drama and suspense of the American Allies as you ride through France. This event is usually in early June.
In August there’s Riverfest Express / Trolley Fest. The Village of South Elgin and the Museum partner together to bring food, music, trolley rides, exhibits, and carnival rides to the area. There’s also fireworks at the end of this full day event.
The Museum provides a unique experience of showing you what America was like when the electric trolley was part of everyday life. It’s a great educational experience where visitors are welcomed aboard to see and hear a trolley car.

About the Author: Shalina Wozny I am a communications intern for EACVB. I really like being the “middle man” and finding a way to bridge the gap between people. I like exploring new cities, eating a good bowl of pasta, and having anything sweet for dessert – dessert is a must for me! Fall is my favorite season; the leaves changing color fascinate me. I love having deep, soulful conversations. Follow my posts on this blog to find out more about what I love to do in this area.
