Elgin Knit Works is a yarn store with a vintage urban feel located in historic downtown Elgin, in a building dating to 1872 .  Established in 2012, Elgin Knit Works is evolving and always looking to bring in new yarns and fibers. Our focus on supporting independent artists is reflected in our selection of yarn bowls, project bags, stitch markers, shawl pins and unique gifts.

Shopkeepers Betsy and Linda are both retired teachers who have a passion for knitting and helping others.  We have developed a curriculum of skill building classes. These classes are offered on a private or semi-private basis to ensure success and scheduling of classes is flexible.
