The Elgin History Museum’s new “Elgin Academy 1839-2024: A Legacy of Excellence” exhibit chronicles the evolution of Elgin Academy decade by decade, showcasing an array of photographs that vividly capture moments that have shaped their legacy.

There are plenty of artifacts to look at, including the Academy Bell that fell from the cupola down to the first floor during a 1911 fire. Celebrate the school’s legacy and its impact on everyone who has been on its campus over the last 185 years.

Linda Rock will present a short program on influential alumni of Elgin Academy at 7:15 pm.
