Judson Named Among the 50 Top Mission Minded Christian Colleges and Universities


Judson University is listed among the 50 Top “Mission Minded Christian Colleges and Universities” for 2017 by Christian Universities Online.


This is the first time that the Elgin-based university has been included on ChristianUniversitiesOnline.org’s top “Mission Minded” schools list. Ranked at No. 45, Judson is commended for its mission to “educate, equip and empower,” as well as to instill in Christian Ministries majors “the knowledge and skills necessary to be a lifelong spiritual leader who shapes ministries that shape the world.”


Judson was founded in 1963 and was named after Adoniram Judson, the first Protestant missionary sent from North America to preach in Burma.


In addition to offering ministry-based undergraduate degree programs in Christian Ministries, Worship Arts and Biblical Studies, the university also offers the Master of Leadership in Ministry (MLM) degree, and the accelerated Thrive program, which allows some ministry students to complete a ministry undergraduate degree and the MLM in five years.


Judson also hosts several global outreach (mission) trips each year. Almost 100 students, staffers and faculty members will have traveled on global outreach trips during the 2016-2017 academic school year. Among the various missional destinations: Kenya, Mexico, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Belize, Peru, the Ukraine and cities within the U.S.
