2023 Oktoberfest in the Elgin Area
Oktoberfest, the renowned beer festival with its roots in Germany, has a history that can be traced back to the early 19th century. Initially featuring a horse race as its main attraction, the event gradually transformed into a larger, more diverse festival, complete with attractions and iconic beer tents. In order to enjoy better weather, the festival was moved to the month of September. So that is why Oktoberfest is set in September! Oktoberfest stands as a tradition to listen to lively music, wear traditional attire, and, of course, drink an impressive selection of local brews.
