Summer Fun Around Elgin: Don’t Miss These Local Fests!

The weather’s warming up, and the Elgin area is bursting with exciting summer festivals! Whether you live in Elgin proper, or in a charming neighboring town like Bartlett, Burlington, Carpentersville, Gilberts, or West Dundee, there’s a perfect celebration waiting for you.

Here’s a sneak peek at some of the best fests to mark on your calendar:

Gilberts

Gilberts Community Days is the Village’s annual four-day festival that has something for everyone. Set for May 30 to June 2, the event will include live music, free children’s activities, a petting zoo, carnival rides and games, food and drinks, a classic car show, and more.

Carpentersville

The Village of Carpentersville’s Independence Day Parade will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 29.

Burlington

Burlington’s annual Independence Day Celebration and Fireworks Show will begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 3, in Burlington Park, and include food vendors, music, a ceremony honoring all veterans, and fun for everyone. The evening will close with fireworks at dusk.

Elgin

-The City of Elgin offers a full day of festivities to celebrate Independence Day. The morning kicks off with the Pet Parade followed by the main Fourth of July Parade. Later, head over to Festival Park for the concert and fireworks, set to begin at 7 p.m.

-Elgin’s “End of Summer Bash,” set for Aug. 10 at Festival Park will feature food and drinks, music, a drone show, photo opportunities and fun for the whole family.

Bartlett

Bartlett’s premier four-day Fourth of July Festival features bands, fireworks, a carnival with rides and games, food and beverages, bingo, and more. This year’s event will be held Thursday, July 4 through Sunday, July 7.

West Dundee

Wrap up summer with a bang at West Dundee’s annual Heritage Fest, a free three-day community celebration in mid-September. This beloved event, set for Sept. 13 through Sept. 14, offers something for everyone, including live entertainment, family fun, food and drinks, a car show, and more.
