1.Take in a Wine Down Wednesday
Every Wednesday from 6-8pm, Lounge 51 hosts an event any wino will love. This weekly wine tasting also features all day specials you can’t beat. Like a $10 charcuterie board, $2 off all glasses of wine, and $10 off all wine bottles!
2. Enjoy a Nature Hike
The Hawthorne Hill Nature Center has just announced their Adult Nature Hikes schedule for February. On the 21st from 2-3pm, go on a guided tour through the beautiful scenery at the nature center. We also recommend stopping at one of the nearby coffee houses, like the Arabica Cafe, Blue Box Cafe and Café Revive to warm up.
3. Dinner and a Show at Gifford’s Kitchen
Not only is Gifford’s Kitchen a great place to go for good food, they also provide a variety of musical guests and activities this February. Lean back and enjoy live music by Lisa Thomen, Matt Geo, or James & Friends. But if you’re feeling jazzier, be sure to catch the Random Acts Jazz Quartet. Not to mention the Sip and Paint event on February 19th from 7-9pm. Be sure to check out Gifford’s website or Facebook page for more event information.
4. The Hot Chocolate Bike Ride
Glide through downtown Elgin with the Elgin Bike Hub for their Hot Chocolate Ride event. Going at a slow roll pace, you’ll be able to take in beautiful architecture, and sweeping river views. Ending back at the Arabica Cafe, you can warm up and enjoy a special hot chocolate treat for just $1. Be sure to check out the Elgin Bike Hub Facebook Page for more information and events.
5. Attend Tapestry: The Carole King Songbook with Suzanne O Davis
Take your Valentine this February 14th to the Elgin Community College Arts Center where you can listen to one of the most celebrated albums of all time, LIVE! Suzanne O Davis and her band will transport you through time to the 1970’s as they play through Carole King’s most infamous work. Make a whole night of it when you opt to include dinner as well!
