Summers in the Elgin Area are full of life and excitement! Festivals, celebrations, and events line every weekend will make you want to stick around for a few days! Make sure to start planning your weekend by looking at a few of the 1500+ events across our website and make plans around those. From Farmers Markets and local events to large events such as our Pride Festival, Juneteenth, and several communities hosting community days; you’ll be able to find a few that really make you think “I want to go to there!” We are leaving some spots in this itinerary open for you to go choose your own event adventure, so go and have a blast!

Day 1
Schedule

Start your weekend off by checking into one of our communities many hotels.

After you check in, grab some lunch at Kubo Sushi and Sake Lounge! We would personally recommend the Kubo Bowl or a bento box! They are absolutely delightful! If sushi is not your speed, head right next door to BeaUnique for a wonderful birria experience!

Once lunch is over, explore the beautiful outdoor scenery in one of the many beautiful parks throughout the Elgin Area. Festival Park is just a short walk from those restaurants, but if you aren’t afraid of driving, head on over to Lords Park, Wing Park, or any of the other parks here. Wanting to be outside but nature or trails aren’t your thing? Go on over to any of the many splash pads and pools across our communities! Festival Park has one that is quite refreshing on a hot and sunny day!

As the sun begins to set, head on over to Martini Room, a popular lounge in Elgin, to unwind and have some refreshing drinks. They offer a variety of creative cocktails and a relaxed ambiance. Want something more family friendly or maybe something to eat? Right down the road is Elgin Public House with some great food options from salads to burgers! They even have their outdoor dining up. Day 2
Schedule

Start the day off right with a wholesome breakfast from Maple and Hash. Known for their great food and even better coffee, they are the perfect way to begin Day 2 of your Elgin Area summer adventures! Want to experience Christmas… in the summer? A short drive will bring you to Santa’s Village Amusement & Water Park! This park is fun for all ages, and with the water park- it will keep you cool all day long!

Activities indoor can be refreshing if the day is too hot or if the UV index is a bit too high for your liking, so head on over to Adrenaline Monkey in West Dundee! It’s an adventure and performance training facility thoughtfully designed for individuals and groups of any size, age or ability. Filled with rock climbing, jumps, net climbing and more- it is really a fun and unique experience.

After a morning of running around and having fun, we are sure that you have worked up a hunger. Go to Niko’s Tavern in Pingree Grove for a whole rack of ribs, a burger, or anything you fancy for a great price! The atmosphere is fun and casual, plus it has a fantastic beer selection to choose from!

Once your hearty lunch is complete, we would advise you check out our event listings to see what local activities you might be interested in! Perhaps a parade? A farmers market? Some live performances? See our list of events happening soon below!
