First Annual Museum Crawl: Catastrophes!

Aug 26, 2022
4:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Elgin History Museum, Elgin Public Museum, Fire Barn No. 5, and U-46 Planetarium
FOUR classic Elgin institutions — ONE afternoon/evening! It’s the first-ever Elgin Museum Crawl! Featuring a theme of catastrophes, you’ll learn fascinating facts and have fun exploring these great venues:
U-46 PLANETARIUM: The asteroid that killed the dinosaurs and supernovas.
FIRE BARN No. 5 MUSEUM: The Rialto Theater fire of the 1950s, and other raging Elgin infernos.
ELGIN HISTORY MUSEUM: The Palm Sunday tornado of 1920 and Fox River floods.
ELGIN PUBLIC MUSEUM in Lords Park: Earthquakes, extinctions, and the creepy Mystery of the Murderer’s Birds.
And, after you’ve visited all four places, why not head downtown to catch the re-scheduled July 4th fireworks? The Elgin Museum Crawl is presented free of charge; donations greatly appreciated. Please register, but visit the Museums in any order you like for a unique and fun family experience!
