August 17 @ 3:00 pm
Brought to you by the Elgin Cultural Arts Commission, Goodly Creatures Theatre presents Twelfth Night, a story of romance, mischief, and what it means to be in love.
Viola, saved from a deadly shipwreck that she believes claimed her brother’s life, arrives in Illyria penniless. She disguises herself as her brother to work for the Duke Orsino, and finds herself wooing the Countess Olivia on behalf of the Duke. Illyria is unlike any place Viola has ever known. Soon realizing she’s fallen down the rabbit hole of this strange land, she encounters eccentric misfits, misplaced affections, and one very cantankerous manservant, Malvolio. Can Viola sway the whirligigs of fate and win the Duke’s heart?
