KCT has teamed up with State Senator Cristina Castro, State Representative Anna Moeller, and the Gail Borden Public Library District to host a free community shred day in Elgin.

Combat Identity Theft while clearing out needless clutter at home by bringing your old paper documents to be safely and securely shredded! Only paper material will be accepted, but small paper clips and staples do not need to be removed. No plastic bags, please. Shred material will be accepted until 11 am, or until the shred trucks are full.

We’ll also be supporting a donation drive for the Community Crisis Center at this event. Please consider bringing a donation. Some of the most needed items include shampoo & conditioner, body wash & lotion, toothpaste, toothbrushes, & dental care, as well as food items like canned foods, baby food & formula, cereal, oatmeal, instant ramen, potatoes, and flavored rice.

This event will take place on Saturday, June 14th from 9-11am, at Gail Borden Public Library’s main branch location.
