About It’s Our Fox River Day

It’s Our Fox River Day (IOFRD) is held each year on the third Saturday of September. Individuals and groups organize events to celebrate, protect and restore the health of the Fox River.

Events are planned in Carpentersville, East Dundee, Elgin, Hampshire, West Dundee, and more.

Options include an art workshop at Hawthorne Hill Nature Center, a lecture and art class at the Elgin History Museum, several cleanup events, a bring-your-dog event, and a Clown Cleanup led by Elgin’s premier sad clown, Sobby the Clown.
