West Dundee River Challenge Bike Race

Join us for the opening day of the Chicago Grit Racing Series, a 10-day criterium hosted at locations throughout the Chicagoland area. Our course is known for the Leg Breaker, a grueling climb located at the end of a 0.9 mile loop.
Watch the racers speed by while shopping at the Dundee Open Air Market, or enjoying local food and beverages, or playing on massive inflatables in Grafelman Park. Meet cyclists camped out for the day in the neighborhood, don costumes for the Family Bike Parade or stay for the Post-Race party, with live music by Three If By Air. It’s a whole day of outdoor fun for the whole family.

Family Bike Parade

Get a cool costume and join the bike parade!
The Family Bike Parade provides individuals and groups an opportunity to ride a portion of the course, either with or without costumes. Prizes are provided by local businesses for those with the best costumes. Sign up at the Information Tent on the day of the race, download waivers ahead here: https://www.wdundeeriverchallenge.org/familybikeparade. Helmets for cyclists are required and parents can walk alongside children.
Post-Race Party
8 PM-11 PM
