This Summer it’s time to meet up and hit the road for a trip with the guys. Keep reading to see what the Elgin area has in store for you.

Day 1

After you arrive in town the first thing you’ll want to do is check into where you’ll be staying. There is a number of lodging options to choose from with a variety of accommodations. Look through the list of options by clicking the button below.

Once you’re checked into where you’ll be staying it’s time for lunch. So hop in an Uber or other rideshare service and head to one of the recommended spots below to enjoy a laid-back pub experience at a local favorite burger joint.

Copper Barrel on State

A classic eatery known for using locally sourced ingredients whose menu design is inspired through connections with local farmers, growers, and vendors.

Old Republic

An American Kitchen+Bar featuring options where everything is made in house (including meat smoking) and combining them with cocktails and drafts.

Van’s Frozen Custard

Van’s is a family-owned restaurant and a local staple for amazing burgers and other grilled food with a large variety of options for frozen custard like sundaes.

Once you’re done grabbing a bite, head into Dundee and go on a quick brew tour. Starting at Bandito Barney’s then head to East Dundee’s certified brewers, Black and Gray Brewing Co. for a brew you can only get here. Afterward, take a fun break at the Underground Retrocade where you can play classic arcade games and pinball before walking across the street and ending the brew tour at Emmett’s Brewing Co., an award-winning brewery and restaurant.

When you’ve wrapped up the brew tour grab a ride and head to your last stop for the evening, Grand Victoria Casino. to enjoy slots, table games and Buckingham’s, an award-winning steakhouse before grabbing an Uber or cab ride back to your hotel.

Day 2

Start the day by checking out of where you’re staying and grab breakfast (or lunch) at Alexander’s Cafe. Afterward, grab your golf clubs and head to one of the Elgin area’s best golf courses.

Bowes Creek Country Club

The centerpiece of a premier, 616-acre residential country-club community in Elgin (Kane County), Bowes Creek Golf Course is an 18-hole public course designed by award-winning architect Rick Jacobson. The environmentally planned golf course integrates all the natural elements the native landscape has to offer.

The Highlands of Elgin

Nine new holes reclaim an old stone quarry, and take maximum advantage of the unique and dramatic landforms that were left behind, including a twelve acre quarry lake. Four holes hug the top of the bluff thirty to forty feet above the water providing golfers with incredible views and numerous shot options on each hole.

Randall Oaks Golf Club

An 18-hole championship golf course that offers an unrivaled level of service. Also amenities that include: multiple teeing areas to accomodate all skill levels, a full length practice facility with target greens, a fully stocked Pro Shop with top quality golf apparel and equipment and PGA Professional staff.

Once you and the fellas have wrapped up at the golf course of your choosing, the last thing to do before hitting the road is to grab some pizza to share. There’s a lot of local favorites, so here are 3 to choose from.

Danny’s Pizza

The first “Danny’s Pizza” was opened on the North side of Chicago. At that time began the family tradition of serving a delicious pizza made using special ingredients and from their own family recipes.
