Hometown Heroes: Bear Family Restaurants
The McDonald’s brand has been known for giving back. And the Bear family restaurants have been doing just that and then some. They have been lending a hand and providing inspiration to our community in ways that have people saying “I’m Lovin’ It!”
Here are some reasons why the Bear family restaurants are Hometown Heroes!
As we have all learned to navigate this new normal, the Bear family restaurants have done what they can to help during this time. They wanted to say thank you to those who are fighting in the battle against COVID-19. Because of this, they have provided numerous opportunities for health care workers to stop by and grab a free pick me up. A free morning cup of coffee can brighten your day and put a pep in your step. What a nice way to say thank you! They have also been stopping by to deliver some happiness to hospitals to show their gratitude. Their donation of tasty muffins put lots of smiles on the faces of those working at Sherman Hospital.
The Bear family has been a strong part of our community. While they seek to provide for our health care workers, they have also thought about how they can help the rest of our community as well. Since the COVID-19 outbreak, one of the biggest changes we saw was the doors shutting to retirement homes and similar facilities. While we understand the importance of this action, it’s also heartbreaking to not see our loved ones. The Bear family saw this heartbreak and sought to improve the lives of those who were confined to their rooms in the local senior center. The solution? To establish a pen pal program between their team members and those in the senior centers. So far, this program has done an excellent job promoting positivity and connection during a time of detachment. This program is truly unique and provides inspiration to people who need it.
Families have now been at home and spending a lot of time together, which is one of the positive impacts of the situation. However, now that some time has gone by, families are looking for more things to do. The Bear family has stepped in and started to run another program to give families and children something fun to do- a coloring contest! It’s very easy to do, just visit their website and download the coloring sheet. Then use the form to submit for judging and you’re in! Submissions will be accepted through April 30th and there will be 3 winners, one for each age group.
Thank You Bear Family Restaurants for Giving Back and Providing Inspiration to our Community!
