Marketing Update – Elgin Area CVB

I wanted to take a minute to send you a quick update about the Elgin Area CVB.

The team has been working remotely for the past couple of weeks. A lot of time has been spent strategizing with our hoteliers, venues and contractors. We know that any advertising at this point would fall on deaf ears or come across as insensitive. So it was with great strategic planning that we paused our advertising campaigns while watching the market. We know that the Elgin area tourism market is going to need a monumental push at just the right time. So with that in mind we have all of our campaigns paused and ready to launch when your CVB team, marketing vendors, and hoteliers see the market starting to rebound.

We all know that weeks trapped in the house will inspire consumers’ travel lust. So with that we will be working to re-evaluate our audiences to blanket our drive markets at the exact time with different campaigns. We truly believe that this will be the best use of all advertising dollars we have budgeted.

These weeks have been spent building the content, ads, social media plan and other collateral that will be needed to give that drastic push we are planning. The architecture page has been upgraded with a presentation layer, similar to our 10 Reasons to Call Elgin Home campaign.

In the next couple of weeks we will be finishing upgraded pages for Weddings, Meetings, Fox River Trails, Weekend in Downtown Elgin  in partnership with Elgin Downtown Neighborhood Association and Weekend in the Elgin Area.
Also take a minute to check out our social media channels where our A to Z dining campaign is spotlighting the restaurants that are still operating. In the next couple of weeks we will shift back to our Captivating campaign to start planting the seeds of why visitors and potential residents will want to come to the Elgin area.
