1 day family-friendly itinerary
Only have one day to explore the Elgin area? Don’t worry—you can still see the best of it! This family-friendly itinerary is packed with fun activities to help you make the most of your visit.
Morning
Schedule
Kick off your family-friendly day in the Elgin Area, Illinois, by sparking imagination at the Gail Borden Public Library (270 N Grove Ave).
This isn’t your average library! Head to the KidSpace area where young visitors can explore hands-on play areas, each with a different theme.
As the third-largest library building in Illinois, it also offers something for all ages with great views: its ample windows let in natural light while providing stunning seasonal vistas of the Fox River.
Furthermore, the library hosts engaging and often interactive exhibits throughout the year, ensuring there’s always something new to see.
If your little ones have worked up an appetite, fuel up with a quick snack or a delicious treat at the Roll N Donut Cafe, located right inside. They serve freshly made doughnuts, handmade coffees, and a rotating selection of bites like pork buns and sandwiches.
