For the last 40 years, Explore Elgin Area has invited visitors from outside the area to visit the region and spend the weekend in the area’s hotels, restaurants, museums, trails, and attractions. Explore Elgin Area represents the City of Elgin and several other communities as it invites visitors to sample several destinations. Starting in 2024 Explore Elgin Area also represents the Village of Burlington.
“We are thrilled to have the Village of Burlington join us as we call attention to the destination businesses and events that visitors would like to experience during a weekend getaway,” says Explore Elgin Area President/CEO Krisilee Murphy.
The Village of Burlington will join 10 other communities supported by the advertising and group sales efforts provided by Explore Elgin Area. Now Burlington businesses and community events can join the many campaigns promoted such as Elgin’s summer festivals, various concerts in the park, and the Downtown Elgin Market. Explore Elgin Area promotes events and programs provided by museums, public libraries, nature centers, and parks program in Elgin, Ill., as well as contiguous communities of South Elgin, Bartlett, Carpentersville, East Dundee, West Dundee, Gilberts, Hampshire, Pingree Grove, and Sleep Hollow.
