Community Spotlight

Burlington began as a tavern in 1840, a post office in 1846, a general store in 1847 and finally incorporated in 1906. Today, this quaint, rural community is home to 26 businesses and 535 residents and gives visitors a sense of rural living with all the modern amenities.

Each year, Burlington hosts Holiday Magic on Main Street, the Annual Street Dance, July 3 fireworks and Fall Fest. Join us for one of these days and Main Street closed off for music, a parade and festivities.

In early December, residents celebrate the lighting of the Main Street holiday displays and tree for Holiday Magic on Main Street. During the Annual Street Dance, residents of all ages come out to hear great cover bands and dance the night away in the street outside Mott’s Lounge, a 100-year-old tavern serving up all kinds of fun.
