The Children’s Theatre of Elgin (CTE) is performing James and the Giant Peach Jr. from Friday, April 12, through Sunday, April 14, at the Hemmens Cultural Center.

The Friday and Saturday shows will start at 7:30 pm and the Sunday performance will be at 2 pm.

About the show: This adaptation of the classic novel by Roald Dahl follows the story of a boy named James as he embarks on an epic adventure in…a giant peach. James, neglected and mistreated by his aunts, is ordered to cut down the old fruit tree. Inside, he finds a magical potion that creates a gigantic peach. Leaving his gloomy life behind, James sets out on the ocean inside the peach. Inside, he meets a charming and quirky group of insects, and they all go together on a journey of danger, excitement, and self-discovery. From the mind that gave the world Matilda and Willy Wonka comes this story of friendship, courage, and believing in yourself.
