Indigenous Peoples Observation Weekend

October 7, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Join the Elgin Public Museum if you can on Saturday, October 7th at 4 pm for Ernest M. Whiteman III’s presentation No One Ever Sees Indians: Native Americans in Media. This program is free thanks to a grant from Illinois Humanities Road Scholars Speakers Bureau.
On Sunday, October 8th , regular open hours of 12-4 will feature Abaigeal Collins with Indigenous Dances from 1-2 pm, and archaeologist Ken Geier will demonstrate and discuss the history of the art of flintknapping (projectile points — “arrowheads”). There will also be hands-on educational items around the museum — something for all ages!
