Tree-lined streets and a quaint downtown welcome visitors to West Dundee, Illinois’ cornerstone dining venues and specialty shops, including Emmett’s Brewing Company, an award-winning brewer of craft beers, and The Village Squire.

Historic Downtown West Dundee, Illinois features numerous examples of 19th-century architecture and places of historical interest. The Dundee Township Historical Society Museum, which highlights the famous former resident detective Allan Pinkerton, is of special interest to history lovers.

Also downtown is the popular Rookies Rochaus music venue, an oasis for artists, their craft and the patrons who love live performance. Throughout the year, the establishment hosts a unique blend of live music, comedy shows, and special events.

Just across the street from Rookies Rochaus, visitors will find the riverwalk pump house building and public space. The pump house is a replica of one that was more than 100 years old. The original was torn down in 2017, and bricks from that structure were used to build the replica.

Recreation opportunities are around every corner, from Randall Oaks, featuring a Golf Club, Rec Center, Barnyard Zoo, and much more, to the Riverwalk along the Fox River and numerous neighborhood parks. Canlan Ice Sports west of Randall Road is the most modern skating facility in the NW Chicago area for instruction, competition, and recreation. Adrenaline Monkey, located inside Lifezone 360, is an adventure and performance training facility designed for individuals and groups of any size, age or ability.

Overnight visitors can stay at the Sonesta Select and Extended Stay America located on Route 31 near the I-90 Tollway.
